Features.

I've been using patch printer for a little bit now and I'm running into some issues which could be improved.

  1. The ability to CSV Export a specific list eg. Cable list so I can import it into my Dymo Label printing software. or support for these labels printers. Dymo/P-touch.
  2. The ability to give a fixture two power sources eg. 8 Cell mole which has to 16a connectors Or to be able to give them fixture numbers and a letter eg. 801-A & 801-B
  3. When making loom lists it will only add colour onto the printed list if all the looms are the same colour i.e. for the same area. If I could add the location colour on the cable list and then this would show up in the paperwork this would be helpful. e.g. Spare with white or a motor cable with earth tape or a feeder loom which then breaks out for different areas
  4. as far as I can see there is no way to add DMX to the cable list so I'm unable to include DMX in my looms

Thanks,

G

  • Hello,

    1. These label printers are directly supported, but you need to play around with the size of the label. Every label will have a bigger size and also the settings of the printers do matter. I will contact some users which already use these and post the label templates and printer settings here.
    2. This is something I am still figuring out. The A and B thing might be a nice way to link them, but it requires a lot of mods in the software. Notes taken..
    3. Will see what I can do!
    4. Not via the wizard, since this will get to complex, but you can change the cable type when you have a loom selected.

    Thanks,

    Bart

  • Thank you.

I was just wondering whether you had managed to contact any other users? as am struggling to get my labels to print directly onto my label printer, which is a Dymo label writer 450.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I'm (still) waiting for the templates of the PatchPrinter user who used almost the same printer. A couple of settings which should I can guess can be found in the screenshot below:

    • Fill in the correct label width and height
    • Rotation on Portrait Paper: 90 Deg Rotation
    • 1 Item horizontal and 1 item vertical

In the settings of the printer the correct label cartridge should be configured.

What happens when you try to print a pdf or picture, just from any application, not via PatchPrinter?

Please let me know your findings!

    Thanks,

    Bart

  • Hi Bart,

I had a bit of time this morning and I've figured and got great-looking labels on a Dymo Labelwriter 450, it took a while to align everything but I think I have a template that works now and prints straight off the software.

I found the label had to be set to the bottom left part of the A4 sheet.

    Thanks,

    Geno

  • Hello Geno,

Well done! Haven't heard that one before, but nice to know it's ok now! Enjoy your labels 😁!

  • Hello Geno

I have a problem with printing with the dymo labelwriter 450 .

Al the labels are really small when i print them.

I did setup the label type right in the settings of dymo, i got the same labels as you are, and i copy the info that you share above, but still every thing that is printing is really small.

    hope you can help

    Kind regards,

    Kevin
