Issue with 6-Channel Dimmer and 8-Channel Cable (HAN16)
Real Life situation: I have a 6 channel dimmer (TTL Dimmypack) with 12 schuko outputs, 2 per channel. I use a HAN16 Break-in to go to a break out on the truss.
If I create a new Dimmer in the Template manager with 6 Schuko outputs, I won't be able to connect a HAN16 multi to the dimmer: wrong cable type. -> Is there a break-in feature in Patch Printer?
As a work-around I made a HAN16 output on the dimmer, to function as a break-in. But I still won't be able to connect a HAN-16 cable to the dimmer -> The cable has 8 channels and the dimmer only 6 channels.
How can I make this work?
Thanx!

Hello,
You can drag HAN16 cable with 8 channels to a HAN16 outlet with 6 channels. Channels 7 & 8 will not be connected, just like in the real world. I believe PatchPrinter even throws a warning when you have fixtures patched to channel 7 or 8.
There is also a break in function in PatchPrinter, you can drag Multi Cable channels onto other multi cable channels. However, this will not work directly at the PD/Dimmer, since you are assigning a Multi Channel to a Schuko. I will add a "Break-In" to the conversion list, so you can use it this way.
Thanks,
Bart
Hey Bart,
Thanx for your response.
I guess I'm doing something wrong. When I try to connect a HAN16 cable to the 6ch Dimmer I get the message "There are not enough channels for this Multi in this Bay" in the left bottom corner, and nothing will be connected.
Would be really nice if you could add the Break-In to the conversion list, thanx!
Greetz,
