Hello,

I have added a note to my fixtures. I'd like the show the notes on the PD/Dimmer Page, so I added an extra column in the Template manager, and set the 'type' of this column to 'note'. Unfortunately nothing appears in the column when I add some fixtures to the Dimmer/PD.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or maybe the 'Type-note' is not the note from the fixture, but from somewhere else.

Is this the right way to add a note column? Or is it not possible to add the Note from a fixture to the page at all?

Ps. I also added the note to my fixture labels, this is working fine; it shows the Note on the label.

Kind regards,

Maarten

Real Life situation: I have a 6 channel dimmer (TTL Dimmypack) with 12 schuko outputs, 2 per channel. I use a HAN16 Break-in to go to a break out on the truss.

If I create a new Dimmer in the Template manager with 6 Schuko outputs, I won't be able to connect a HAN16 multi to the dimmer: wrong cable type. -> Is there a break-in feature in Patch Printer?

As a work-around I made a HAN16 output on the dimmer, to function as a break-in. But I still won't be able to connect a HAN-16 cable to the dimmer -> The cable has 8 channels and the dimmer only 6 channels.

How can I make this work?

Thanx!

I've been using patch printer for a little bit now and I'm running into some issues which could be improved.

The ability to CSV Export a specific list eg. Cable list so I can import it into my Dymo Label printing software. or support for these labels printers. Dymo/P-touch.

The ability to give a fixture two power sources eg. 8 Cell mole which has to 16a connectors Or to be able to give them fixture numbers and a letter eg. 801-A & 801-B

When making loom lists it will only add colour onto the printed list if all the looms are the same colour i.e. for the same area. If I could add the location colour on the cable list and then this would show up in the paperwork this would be helpful. e.g. Spare with white or a motor cable with earth tape or a feeder loom which then breaks out for different areas

as far as I can see there is no way to add DMX to the cable list so I'm unable to include DMX in my looms

Thanks,

G

Hey Bart,

Over some time i got some things maybe to implement or to have a look at. Maybe some points are already said, but here is my list.

If i put a Han16 on a PSU with only 6 fixed output channels i dont get a warning if i put a fixture on my 7th or 8th multi channel.

Is it posible to add an undo option, it would have maked me happy a lot for sure in the start of using your tool.

If i replace a fixture with higher dmx channels, i dont get a warning sign that my dmx is overlapping. in the universe view it gets red, but there is no warning sign at the sidebar.

Maybe i did something wrong but when i tried to patch a Multi which i use on PD1 and i want to use some channels on PD2 i can't get it done.

Is it posible to choose in sheets between the full or short name

i want to make an overview of all my LK37 boxes in the field and with that i want to make an overview of all those boxes and link them to an output of node, so LK37-Floor 1 - Node 6 out 2. see image

Can you make an option to add or own pdf files in the publish view, now i have to edit in an extern program and add the pdf file in between the publisched file. if i can add it in the program and put it in the publisch screen.

in the template manager is it posible to put the start number in of the bay, you can now say start at 1 but i can't give in a number of my own.

Maybe it's an idea for the futher to make a library for PD/Dimmers and data distributors for companies, so i i can just search for a company and see all of there dimmers and racks in the right layout.

Thanks for all the great work and keep it going!

greetings Tim

Hi Bart,

I have a question about how you manage your DMX universes in Vectorworks. It seems in the demo video that you use a ‘universe’.’node output’. (1.1 for example) method for delineating the universe and DMX cable going to each light. I like the concept, but if I input 1.1 into the universe field in VWX it does not accept it. (A whole number is required). How do you work around this?

Cheers,

Cookie
